User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Build Your Song Base and Learn Valuable Techniques for the Acoustic Guitar
Been playing guitar for years but never used any books directly addressing acoustic guitar technique. A student of mine had purchased the book based on my referral from using other Hal Leonard Method’s so I didn’t have any first hand knowledge on the book. When I saw my student’s book I knew I needed to purchase a copy because though I have played for years the techniques and resources are valuable to have in my music library.

Hal Leonard has done it again.

3 Stars Not exactly a step-by-step lesson book
The title of this book can be a little misleading. It doesn’t give much of a step-by-step approach and it doesn’t explain well enough to understand. This book is good for people who are a lot more advance and want more knowledge about their playing. And for those who want to learn some good acoustic songs, this book will be the right one for you. But I strongly suggest for those who are new, get a guitar instructor to teach you the proper way of playing these songs. Trust me; it will save you from struggling.

4 Stars I’m glad I bought this book
The reviews below helped me to buy this book. I consider myself an early intermediate player not a beginner. This book was exactly what I was looking for. The author assumes you know the basics and teaches techniques (advanced strumming and fingerpicking etc….) using snippetts of popular songs. Then uses those techniques in a full length song.

Now go practice!!!

5 Stars Great beginner book
I received my guitar lesson book within just a few days from placing my order. I have been doing the small practices it introduces and I am beginning to feel a bit better about playing and not making a fool of myself. This is the first time I have put this much effort into learning to play guitar and it is fun. The book is very informative and takes steps to ensure you feel comfortable with yourself and your guitar.

2 Stars Complete Guitar Method
I liked the book when it finally arrived. It took over 30 days to get the item. I would never buy a used item or like new item again. Thermite media does not purchase USPD tracking on the entire order. I could track my item for the first part of the shipment and then the final portion did not have a tracking number. The customer service responds quickly with an automated e-mail message.

The two dollars you save is not worth all the aggravation associated with the purchase. I wish I knew that it would take longer to receive this item and that you can’t return the item.
